Our teams are based in California & Tennessee and are available to travel.

We offer a variety of Live Art Packages depending on the size of your party. On average, an event with 100-150 guests can expect to spend about $5000-8,000+ depending on guest coverage.

Here’s How Our Live Art Station Works At Your Event:

When guests approach our station, our team will explain the live art process and snap a quick photo of the guests. That way there is no waiting involved and guests can enjoy the party! To keep things streamlined, we will only work off the photos we take.

Our artists will work off our photographs of your guests to create their portrait, which takes 5 minutes per person, on average. We can fit up to 4 people in a portrait!

Once the portrait is completed, we will write the guests’ names on the back so they can find their portraits at the end of the event. It will be packaged up nicely for guests to pick up before they leave!

My husband and I wanted something at our wedding more memorable than a photobooth, so we opted to book Chasing Linen's Live Art team instead! It was so easy to communicate with Dianuh and she was very responsive. We had around 220 guests at our wedding, so Dianuh suggested 2 artists to cater to our large party. We booked them for cocktail hour until the end of the night and guys...these ladies HUSTLED all night. Our friends and family were so excited to get their portraits done! And they make it so smooth for our guests: an assistant will take a photo, and then they can go back to enjoying the rest of the wedding while the artists work their magic, then they can pick up the finished portrait at the end of the night! Their signature style is faceless, but with SO much detail (glasses, jewelry, facial hair, fabric texture, etc). The pricing is incredibly reasonable for how memorable and special the service is! Our guests showed off their portraits on social media and even hang them up in their homes! We are so so thrilled with our experience!”

The portraits were painted while the guests were enjoying themselves and at the end of the night, they had a personal gift to take with them. Everyone loved them. The Chasing Linen artists and their assistants were wonderful to work with. If anyone is at all concerned about having things painted live and making sure everyone's paintings are ready by the end of the event, don't be. They have a fantastic system and are very organized. Within two hours they had 40 plus couples' portraits completed. We would highly recommend them.”

Live Art Experience FAQ

What are mini portraits?

Mini Portraits are hand painted watercolor portraits of your guests that are painted in our signature faceless style. Since they are bust & up, the portraits will showcase the individual's skin tone, hair, and top they are wearing. The 4.5x6 portraits are painted on luxe watercolor paper and are enclosed with a clear sleeve. All portraits have the name of the individual(s) written on the backside so you know who's who!

How do I book my event?

Once you've filled out our inquiry form, we will check our availability. If we are available, we will send you a customized brochure with recommended packages based on your guest count. From there, you will select the package you'd like to book and we will create a proposal for you. Once the contract is signed and 50% of the payment is paid, your date will be locked in! The remainder of the payment will be due the month of your event.

How early should I inquire about my event?

We book around 9 months in advance. If you'd like to inquire earlier, you can fill out our inquiry form!

How long do each portraits take?

Depending on the details, it takes about 5 minutes per person. Once you’ve submitted your inquiry form, we’ll send you a brochure with a list of packages we’d recommend based on your guest count. The packages will outline the percentage covered so you can pick and choose what works best for your event! The brochure will also include custom template options (see below.)

Can I customize the template?

Absolutely! Our standard templates are blank but if you’d like to add a custom template, we have 3 options:

Name/Date

Name/Date + Bust & Up portrait for bride and groom

Custom illustration (aka anything you want!)

Prices vary for each design and differ based on your guest count!

What is all involved for day of set up?

Our station requires (a) 6-ft table(s), chair(s) and ample lighting - all which are set up & provided by the client. Our team will bring all art supplies and signages.

Helpful tip: We suggest placing a cocktail table nearby the live art station for guests to place their drinks on. We do not allow beverages on our live art table.

When is the best time to start live art for weddings?

We recommend starting live art during cocktail hour. If cocktail hour and reception are in separate areas, we can move stations in between.

Are there restrictions on live art portraits?

Yes! They are as follows:

We can fit a maximum of 4 persons in a portrait. Please note, there will be one copy for group portraits.
To accommodate for as many guests as possible, we limit one portrait per person.
We do not accept special requests during the live art event. If you wish to add facial features, pets, or other details, please purchase from our Custom Portrait listing before/after the event.

Do you travel? If so, are there travel fees involved?

Yes! We are based in Southern California, but are available to travel worldwide. We do charge a travel fee that covers our team’s time and expenses such as flight, hotel, food, and transportation.
